Paid repair of a computer, monitor or printer

Equipment out of warranty that broke. Two routes — through the university, or a private technician with reimbursement.

  • Approx. 10 min + handling time
  1. First — check whether it is still under warranty

Under warranty? — Then skip all of this: open a TMR request and the repair is free.

Computers and printers bought through the university usually come with three years of warranty. If you are not sure, send me the inventory number and I will check.

  2. Route A — a technician through the university

    1. In Anant, order the item "external technician". It costs around ₪300, and that covers the call-out and diagnosis only.
    2. Keep the requisition number.
    3. Open a TMR request, quote the requisition number and ask for a paid repair.
    4. The technician arrives, diagnoses the fault and gives a quote for the repair itself.
    5. Issue a second requisition in Anant based on that quote.
    6. The technician returns and carries out the repair.
Two requisitions, not one — The first covers the call-out, the second the actual repair — once the fault is known.
  3. Route B — a private technician with reimbursement

You can take the equipment to a private technician you know — for example through Midrag or HaMiktzoanim — pay them directly, and claim the expense back in Anant.

Keep the invoice — Without an invoice in your name there is no reimbursement.
  4. Which route to pick

    • Through the university — nothing out of your own pocket and the equipment stays in the office. Slower.
    • Private technician — faster and usually cheaper, but you pay up front and wait for the refund.
