Installing a new network point

A new network socket where there is none. The process moves between TMR and Anant and back — six steps, and it helps to know the order in advance.

  • Approx. Takes weeks
  1. Open a TMR request

Open a TMR request asking for a new network point. State the building, the room number and exactly where you want the socket.

  2. Site survey

Someone from the IT department will come to look at the location and check the cable route.

  3. Receive a quote

After the survey you will get a price quote by email.

Rough cost — Around ₪1,000 per point. This is a rough estimate only — the real price depends on the distance to the communications cabinet and how complex the run is.
  4. Issue a requisition in Anant

Issue a purchase requisition in Anant based on the quote you received.

  5. Installation

Once the requisition is approved, a technician will come and install the socket.

  6. Activate the point

The point is not live straight away — Physical installation is not activation. Without this step the socket exists in the wall but does nothing.

Open another TMR request, quote the number printed on the new socket, and ask to have it activated.
